5 Easy Steps to Get Going on Twitter.
We haven't gone to the birds; Twitter is about "Tweeting", the language of instant online conversation and communication. Though used by millions to describe nothing it is also used increasingly by business people, thought leaders and entrepreneurs to promote themselves, their service, products and ideas to a rapidly expanding community.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service, that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
Setting up Your Twitter Account.
Step 1: Go to http://www.twitter.com.
When you get to Twitter.com, you'll see this page (right):
Step 2: Click Get Started - Join! (Green Box).
Step 3: Create a Username.
a. If you are using this twitter account for brand management for your business, we recommend using your domain name minus the dot co.nz/com/net/etc. (i.e. http://twitter.com/YourBusinessName) If it's just for fun or personal use, use whatever you want as the username. This is subject to availability; in our case we used MondayMorningNZ because MondayMorning was already in use.
b. Add your email address and other required details.
c. Type in the security code words then click "Create my account" (The "terms of Service" are at bottom of the page if you want to refer to them - Always recommended but not required).
Step 4: Start Observing
What we are not doing here is showing you how to get contacts or how to use Twitter, that is for later. MondayMorning will certainly be focusing more information and material on how we can make the most of this product from a business user perspective.
One word of advice, it is not a competition on how many followers you have - do not get caught up in that. Effective networking is about quality NOT quantity. To start with watch others and learn, follow people in similar industries or those who give advice that is of value or interest to you. Before you know it you will be contributing your thoughts and value to the global conversation.

Step 5: Start Connecting
Find us on Twitter and add us to your follow list, it's a great place to start you will find us at our twitter page http://twitter.com/MondayMorningNZ
